Summer of Embroidery!

I am determined to start an Etsy store. I will do it. It will be done. I need money.
To go along with this goal, I'm working on a summer collection of bead woven and embroidered jewelry. Look forward to beachy themes! I'm also looking into making wedding accessories since I've seen some very nice beaded belts and headbands that would be fun to try. My biggest concern right now is materials. It's hard to make white wedding jewelry when the only thread you have is black fireline. xP
I'll try to keep my DA updated as this progresses. I've made good progress on two pieces so far, and there will be more to come!

Quick Update

I figured I should have more recent news up here than a failed promise to sell my work from last year. xP
I suffer from anxiety and depression, which were not treated until recently. They became overwhelming late last year, and that threw a wrench into any plans I had for doing anything artistic. My inspiration and my will to work just vanished. Thanks to time, therapy, and medication, it's on its way back. It's actually much harder to get used to feeling stable than I thought it would be.
I'm working on some projects...slowly. I have to balance them with school. I would love to get a store up on Etsy to sell my jewelry within the next few months (I could really use some money), but no promises. I will try to upload art more frequently, even if they're just little doodles, if for no other reason than to get my butt back in gear.
Hopefully I will have a better update soon.

Business As Usual

Remember how I promised that I'd set up an online store over the summer? I lied. Sort of. I spent about half of the summer recovering from the stresses of last school year, then finished A Song of Ice and Fire and got hooked on Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. In addition to that, I started up school again this fall, though with a (much less stressful) switch to majoring in business.
I absolutely still plan to open a store. My goal this time is mid-November, but I have to balance making a decently-sized inventory with doing my homework (I'll do homework this year, I promise!). The delay worked out alright, though, because over the summer I've come up with some new designs and found new ways to make the others more durable. I'll post all that I have at the moment, though my personal favorite, a pretty bracelet made of Swarovski crystals, is conspicuously absent because my cats keep stealing them. Maybe it's because I wore them instead of immediately locking them away like the others. Ah well. Also missing is a simple right angle weave bracelet because I made it last night and didn't feel like taking pictures.
If you're interested in buying some of my jewelry before the store is up, feel free to send me a message. I'll decipher the instructions to making a PayPal account sooner or later. xP

I'm going home!

The school year is almost over! This time next week I'll be home for the summer, and depending on what happens with my school situation, I may be staying there. That's all nice and exciting for me, but here's the part that affects you:
I'm going to be selling my jewelry.
The reason I haven't already started doing this is that I go to school a very long way from home and while I'm here I have no transportation (read: can't afford a car), so shipping anything anywhere reliably is a problem. At home, vehicles abound! I may even learn how to drive one of them. So now that I have a way to get things to a post office, I'm going to be starting an online store where you can buy my jewelries and such. I haven't made it yet because I need to work on some inventory (the 16-hour trip home is good for that), but it'll probably be on Etsy.
So what can you expect? Initially, probably a lot of rings and earrings. Definitely rose rings and flowers like the pink one I've got on here. Some bracelets. Maybe a necklace or two. Also occasional sculpey figurines because I make too many and need to get rid of the things. If something on DA is for sale, then I'll put a link in the description.
That's pretty much it. If you want to contact me about things, feel free to send me a message on DA. I'm planning to set up a separate e-mail, and a PayPal account, and the whole shebang, but I'm very new to this so none of that has actually happened yet. There will be updates as things happen.
